Arsenije Jovanović speaks openly about the influence of drugs, especially heroin, on the youth of that time and how most of his friends lost their lives because of it. He also admits that he himself was an addict and that this is one of the reasons why he often talks about the harmfulness of drugs. He wrote a book about his life, God and Rock and Roll, in which he fully described his youthful life, the life of his friends and their death in the world of drugs and rock and roll. He published the book in 2006 while staying in the hermitage of Crna Reka monastery. He is a great devotee of Mount Athos.
