Contains: preface / dedication by Luka Stullij to Nikola Andrović (p. 3 - 23), Gradić's poem about the earthquake (p. 25 - 36), Rogačić's poem about the earthquake (p. 37 - 42), Stojković's poem about the earthquake (p. 43 - 50), Luka Stullij's poem on the occasion of the death of Tommas Chersa (p. 51 - 60). In the preface Stulli presents the first Croatian criticism of Gundulić Osman.

Gradi, Stefano

Stjepan Gradić (Dubrovnik, 6 March 1613 - Rome, 2 May 1683) - Croatian scientist, poet, polyhistorian and diplomat. He studied philosophy and theology in Rome and law in Bologna, where he obtained his doctorate in 1638. From 1653 he lived in Rome. From 1661 he was curator, and from 1682 head of the Vatican Library. Served as president of the Croatian brotherhood of St. Jerome in Rome. He was engaged in mathematics, physics, philosophy and literary work. Benedikt Rogačić (Dubrovnik, March 18, 1646 - Rome, February 8, 1719) - Croatian theologian, grammarian and poet; Jesuit. Studied in Ancona and Rome. Taught Philosophy in Germanicum. Worked in Rome all his life. He published a dozen works in Latin and Italian, and was also engaged in translation. Benedikt Stay Stojković (Dubrovnik, 1714 - Rome, February 25, 1801) - Croatian philosopher and Latinist. He finished the Jesuit college in Dubrovnik, then studied philosophy, mathematics and theology in Rome. Since 1742, professor of rhetoric and history at the Pontifical College in Rome. Performed many diplomatic posts in the Vatican. He is the author of two philosophical poems. Luko (Luka) Stulli (Šumet near Dubrovnik, 22. IX. 1772. - Dubrovnik, 12. 9. 1828.) - Croatian doctor and writer. He completed his studies in philosophy and medicine in Bologna. In Dubrovnik, he held the positions of city physicist, hospital mayor and supervisor of all hospitals. Member of the Rome Accademia degli Arcadi. He introduced vaccination against smallpox in Croatian regions. Wrote medical, natural science and literary works.
