Summary
James Dashner: The Death Cure
The Labyrinth was just the beginning of Part III of the trilogy
Thomas is absolutely certain that the VILLAIN is not to be trusted. They stole his memory, conducted experiments on him and his friends and then cold-bloodedly checked what would happen, imprisoned him in the Labyrinth, forced him to fight for his own life by running across the Incinerator and finally kidnapped his only friends - Poljanaše. The people from ZLOPAK say that now is the time to tell the truth: they gathered all the information they needed and will restore the memory of Poljana, but in order to make a reliable medicine against Baklja, they need their help in the last venture, which is also their last test. However, the VILLAIN doesn't know that Thomas remembers much more than they suspect, and that's enough for him not to trust them.
At the end of the second episode, Thomas ended up in quarantine at the VILLAIN's headquarters with the diagnosis that he was cut by the Torch. After a month of that terrible solitude in a room without a shower, he comes out and is told that he is immune to the Torch, but not Newt. Together with his friends, he escapes from the VILLA headquarters and goes to Denver. All the cities are fenced off, and the disease is being controlled. However, it escalates the moment they are there. The people of Poljana are trying to find members of the Desna ruka group that is fighting against the VILLAIN in order to join them. Events begin to unfold at breakneck speed, the tension grows, the Poles discover new allies and traitors, but they do not give up on their goal. In the end, they learn that the time has indeed come for the truth to be known, but it is much more deadly than Thomas could have imagined.
This series has gained incredible popularity due to its extraordinary unpredictability - just when you think you are on track, that the story has gone in one direction, a well thought out twist occurs. In addition, the main characters are strong personalities who do not lose their heads, determination and their goal even in the most difficult situations. The world described by James Dashner is cruel and violent, but the main characters distinguish good from evil and act accordingly. In short, they are very inspiring. Two blockbuster films were made based on this series, and the film version of this third sequel will hit theaters in 2018.
