Vladović, Borben, Croatian writer (Split, 13 October 1943). Graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb in 1969 in Yugoslav studies and art history; studied solo singing at the Zagreb Academy of Music. From 1995, he was a dramatist editor at Croatian Radio (he edited four volumes of the anthology Portrait of an Artist in Drama, 1995–2000). He was the president of the Society of Croatian Writers in 2008–11. He made his mark in literature with the collection of poems Balcony Space (1970). He mostly writes concrete poetry with lots of visual details and a collage of graphic elements (3 × 7 = 21, 1973; Vrulje, 1980; Knjigapegla, 1982; Odmor pelivana, 1990; Cjelovitost detalija, 1991; Lirika, 2000; Lirski kokkar: objenene pjesme, 2005; Slak uz prugu, 2008; Kuća na number 9, 2011). In the novel The Color of Iron Oxide (1989) he thematizes the adolescent period of the early 1960s, and in Razderana tlocrto (1995) the events after the Croatian Spring in 1971. He writes short stories (Prenoćište, 2000), plays (Aida, 2002; Mastiks, 2006), and presents visual poetry in the country and abroad.
