The fictional backbone of the novel, which is not characterized by a particularly elaborate plot, is based on a collaged reconstruction of the true ten-day stay of Austrian literary classic Hugo von Hofmannsthal in the climatic health resort of Bad Fusch at the beginning of August 1924. In the meantime, a lot has changed: the sensitive writer has lost friends, years have passed since the time of his glory, his creativity is threatened by unstable health and loneliness, fear of aging and various anxieties.
