It is a book with a selection of contemporary prose writers from Trieste and the region. The writers represented in the book belong to different poetics and show the full breadth of Trieste literature today. They belong to various generations, from long established ones to those who don't have a book yet. Because of this breadth and variety of approaches to the literary work, the editor Valerija Fiandra gives this collection an ambiguous title.

The foreword was written by Claudio Magris, and the choral translation is the result of the efforts of Ljiljana Avirović and a group of translators from the University of Trieste.
