Viktor Pelevin: Life of Insects: a novel
Pelevin's novel "Life of Insects" (1993) is an incredibly imaginative, creative and entertaining work that transforms the world of Russian society in the nineties into the world of insects, skillfully comparing certain characteristic features, but leaving room for psychological characterization of the characters. Nataša does not want to live like her mother Marina, so she turns from an ant into a fly, who in search of a better life meets an American businessman, mosquito - bloodsucker, Sam Saker. The dung father teaches his son that the whole world is just a ball of dung that you have to roll up all your life, but that despite that, life is still beautiful. The son, after a long time digging underground, comes out into the world as an old brat, who just has to talk to the others about how his life was wasted...
