Edward Gibbon: The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire I.
The British historian Edward Gibbon (1737-1794) wrote a magnificent work in six volumes in which he described more than a thousand years of the history of the Roman Empire. The first volume was published in 1776. in London, and this is the first translation into Croatian.
In the first volume, Gibbon describes the period of the organization of the Roman Empire from the age of Antoninus, which he also calls the happy period, to the reunification of the Empire under Constantine's rule.
