The debarbarization of humanity is an immediate prerequisite for survival. This is what the school must serve, no matter how limited its area and its possibilities are, and for this it needs liberation from taboos under the pressure of which barbarism is reproduced. The pathos of today's school, its moral reality, is that in the midst of the existing situation, only it, if it is aware of it, can work directly on the debarbarization of humanity. When I say barbarism, I don't mean the Beatles, although their cult belongs there, but the extreme: insane prejudice, oppression, genocide and torture; there can be no doubt about that. In the world as it currently looks, in which, at least temporarily, there are no more far-reaching possibilities in sight, it is primarily up to the school to oppose it. That is why, despite all the theoretical and social counter-arguments, it is extremely important for society that the school fulfills its task and helps in this, to become aware of the fateful legacy of the plays with which it is burdened.
