Summary
Ivan Antunović: The Sacrament of Marriage
"The love that comes from God knows no boundaries in any sense. This is the reason why two people, husband and wife, commit to live together for the rest of their lives." These few words introduce us to the work entitled Sacrament of Marriage. The author of this work, Father Ivan Antunović, brings us an account of marriage in the history of God's people, beginning with the Old Testament, through the New Testament, and then through the history of the Church.
These three chapters provide a systematic historical overview of the understanding and evaluation of the marriage union from various perspectives: biblical, sacramental, moral, legal. In the time of general relativism, which is also our time, marriage as an institution is also under attack. When there is general ignorance, ignorance of the fundamentals of a subject, it is easy to fall into the trap of belittling it. This book wants to be a material for establishing a fundamental understanding of what Christian marriage is - an institution that in its cradle has rocked the life of society, especially the Western civilization that we live in.
