Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm: Golden Grimm's Fairy Tales
Just before Christmas in 1812, the brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm published the first book of Children's and Family Fairy Tales with 86 stories. Their collecting feat grew into a life's work, which they engaged in for a full fifty years. The number of fairy tales collected grew more and more, so in the end the collection contained 200 fairy tales, with an additional ten Children's Legends. Grimm's fairy tales are probably the most famous and most translated German book that inspired many other European authors of fairy tales in the 19th and 20th centuries. In this edition, which is published on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the first publication of this great classic of Western civilization, you can find 53 Grimm's fairy tales, including the most famous ones (Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Ivica and Marica, The Wolf and the Seven Goats, The Table, Spread It, Bremen Town Musicians, Matovilka, and many others.) The book is illustrated by Jelka Godec Schmidt. Jubilee edition on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the publication of the 1st edition of Grimm's fairy tales.
