The first UNESCO report on a topic that is important to the whole world. In recent years, namely, the phrase "knowledge society" (in the UNESCO report, this phrase is used mainly in the plural) has become part of the everyday discourse of both scientists, businessmen and politicians. All of them stand for building a knowledge society, for an economy based on knowledge, for the crucial role of knowledge, science and lifelong education in modern society.
