Jeknić Oleg

Summary

Oleg Jeknić: Interface theory

What is an interface? What is its function in communication? What is a medium? What is the difference between media and interface and how are they related? The author proposes a general concept of interface that can help to see the entire issue of media (and thus interfaces) in a new way.

The theoretical innovation of this interdisciplinary scientific work is contained in the thesis and argumentation that the term interface takes on a whole range of meanings and functions that belonged to the traditional concept of media. Through extremely complex research, the author moves on to a new and original scientific and poetic theory of technical-philosophical and theoretical-aesthetic interpretations of the meaning, role and function of media and interfaces in contemporary art and culture.

Oleg Jeknić

Film and television director, media theorist. In his theoretical works, he deals with the establishment of interface theory as a new field in media theory.
