Summary
Isidora Ilić, Boško Prostran: Film and Struggle
In a time when the old world is dying and the outlines of the new are still being considered, the edition Film and Struggle - workbook for anti-colonial moving images strives to contribute to the establishment of a synchronic and diachronic connection between the oppressed as heterogeneous subjects of history and their struggles. Presenting important film texts from the global South, many of which have not previously been translated into our languages, this volume intervenes in the field of regional film knowledge and brings theories and practical examples for organizing film production, distribution and screening, in accordance with anti-imperial tendencies and anti-colonial demands. These texts, as the author's reflection of his own actions and poetics, are simultaneously testimonies of historical attempts to include the cinematographic apparatus in the process of social emancipation, to be a weapon in the fight for liberation and equality, and a tool with the help of which possible fields of international solidarity will be built.
