Summary
Yurij Man: The Poetics of Russian Romanticism
The literature on Russian Romanticism is a veritable sea, and that sea is getting bigger every month. The social, epistemological and aesthetic foundations of romanticism are explored, the development of romantic forms in literature in parallel with painting, music and other forms of art, and in Russian literature in parallel with the literature of other nations. The artistic biographies of romantic writers are studied, their mutual connections and contacts, the birth of romantic traditions in previous literary trends and the change of these traditions in the trends that followed, etc. This book does not set and cannot set itself the goal of comprehensively covering. It has a more modest task, which is limited, as the title of the work suggests, to researching the problems of poetics.
