Summary
Tijana Ašić: General Linguistics (language and theory and use)
Tijana Ašić's book General Linguistics contains all the disciplinary, thematic and conceptual complexity of the subjects of modern linguistics, primarily presented as language theories. If this book is compared with Ranko Bugarski's high school textbook Introduction to General Linguistics and the author's previous book The Science of Language, as the only two general linguistics textbooks in our country, then it must be concluded that Tijana Ašić's book is much richer not only in the newly included contents of general linguistics but also thematically, as it includes evolutionary, genetic, neurological and philosophical dimensions of language. And even compared to the translated general linguistics textbooks, this monograph is more complete and much more competent. As such, this book represents a great step forward in textbook and scientific literature.
