This book provides a unique insight into the creative process of one of our greatest and most original sculptors and illustrators by selecting around three hundred drawings from blocks from 2011 to 2021.

Svjetlan Junaković (Zagreb, January 23, 1961) graduated in sculpture from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan in 1985. Since then, he has been continuously engaged in drawing, illustration and sculpture (the first 25 years as an independent artist, and now as a full professor at the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Zagreb). Independently exhibits in Croatia and abroad: Florence 2016. Bologna 2015. Mexico City 2011. Naples 2008. Brussels 2009. Genoa 2009. Lisbon 2007. Budapest 2001. Monza 1996. Munich 1994... Awarded the Nazor Prize for the exhibition of sculptures (Gliptoteka HAZU, 2015) (the largest state award for art) in 2016. He is the author of numerous children's books, which have been published in more than 30 countries around the world and have been awarded with dozens of international awards. For the book Gran libro de los retratos de animales (OQO editora, Spain) he was awarded the Bologna Ragazzi Award in Bologna in 2008, and for the best book in Spain in 2007 and in Italy in 2008. Twice, as a Croatian representative, he was nominated for the Hans Cristian Andersen Illustrator Award, the most important award for children's illustration. Junakovic's animated film Moj put, produced by Bold Studio from Zagreb, was declared the best film at the Croatian Animated Film Festival.
