Summary
Jan Janssonius- Map of Pannonia and Illyricum / Veteris Pannonia Utriusqve Nec non Illyrici Descriptio Geografhica
Appears in various editions of Jan Jansson's Accuratissima orbis antiqui delineatio.
The historical map of ancient Pannonia and Illyricum is completely identical in its content to the map of Abraham Ortelius called "Pannonia et Illyirici veteris tabula" from 1595 . They differ only in decorative elements. The title of the map is in the upper right corner in a Renaissance cartouche. In the cartouche located in the lower left corner of the map, we find the names of the peoples of Pannonia and Illyricum. Next to the cartouche are drawn the Doge of Venice and the lion, symbols of the Republic of Venice.
