Marin Bolica, Croatian writer (Kotor, 1603 - Modena, 27. XI. 1643). After studying in Padua, he became the secretary of the papal nuncio G. Aggucchi, in whose honor he published Posthumous Oration (Oratio in funere, 1632). He taught rhetoric in Modena and was a member of the literary Accademia degli Elpomeni. He wrote occasional pieces (odes, elegies), a critical work on Virgil's Aeneid and other compositions, mostly in Latin and Italian. His manuscripts are preserved in Venice and Modena. In his time, he was respected in Italian cultural circles.
