In 1852, the then Archbishop of Zagreb Haulik ordered a series of lithographs of Jurjavas Park, today's Maksimir, from the painter Ivan Zasche (1826-1863). Jurjaves Park (Maksimir) had just been completed, so the archbishop wanted immortalize his work and, according to the fashion of that time, publish an album of lithographs with motifs from Maksimir Park. Zasche created a wonderful album consisting of 10 pages. the preface, the fold-out plan of the Masimir park, the title page with an attractive lithograph of Zagreb and another 11 different lithographs of the park, most of which are still recognizable today. He made the sketches for the lithography in Zagreb, and the album was printed in Vienna at that time in one of the best printers. Zasche's album is probably the most beautiful and one of the most important works dedicated to the city of Zagreb. The album in question was printed in a limited series.
