Summary
Hristina Radović Andrić: Arjačkinje standard bearers, who will you
Nura Nuh is not a heroine, and sometimes it seems to her that she is not even the main character in the novel of her own life. There is so much to do, so many people to serve, feed and comfort. During half a century of her intense, sometimes convulsive, and mostly events and impressions rich existence, relegating herself to the background, she saw off a procession of colorful characters: an adored intellectual father, a manipulative mother, three husbands and their children - some hers, some theirs - mixed dogs and a gallery of episodic characters, both boringly everyday and somewhat grotesque. But what happens when there is no more room to put your own life on hold? Can Nura cut ties, break away from the past and the roles that hold her back, discover the border between belonging and freedom, bravely cross it and finally go where she didn't dare before - towards herself? *Arjačkinje barjačkinje, koga yakke* is not an ordinary novel. Sometimes it is a puzzle, sometimes a kaleidoscope, and sometimes an elevator that travels not only up and down but also left and right, through time and space. Playful, emotional and unpredictable, this novel will open the door to the life of a woman trying to find her own voice in a world full of other people's stories.
