Esej o noći

Pogačar Marko

Summary

Marko Pogačar: Essej o noči

Essej o noči, a book that fluctuates between essays, travelogues, memoirs, poetry and fiction, deals with everyday darkness, the one inside us and the one around us; what we see, if only for a moment, every time we close our eyes. The narrator travels through the realm of the night as a land that is at once close, fraternal and familiar, but also always foreign, distant and alien.

Turning over stones on the side of the road and opening the compartments of the dusty archive of memory, regularly with a double bottom, he finds scattered traces and evidence of the night, tangible and metaphorical, trying to sketch her photo-robot, the character from the warrant that would give her could be reached, and at the same time becomes aware of its plurality, the impossibility of ending the description. The night, in the end, writes itself in this book, with its own dark ink, setting forth its desires, its demands, its laws. Although the issue is mainly a look at the "bright side of the night", the choice before the traveler-reader is, nevertheless, one and only one and perfectly real: to hide behind one's own eyelids or to continue, equally tapping in the dark.
