Summary
Stanislav Šimić: Anger and song
Art equipment Edo Murtić. The poems are characterized by avoiding the search for beauty, elegiac, sentimental, satirical attitude towards the social events of everyday life and sarcastic condemnation of violence and war suffering. Following his role models, Šimić deepened some satirical features of J. Polić Kamov's lyrics, Matošev's puns and wordplay, the poetics of his brother Antun Brank, and he also followed the trail of Ujević's urban cacophony. Šimić's poetics also follows the left, political wing of German Expressionism and its continuation, the poetry of the so-called new realities (B. Brecht, E. Kästner, W. Mehring).
