In fact, essays and memories is a well-hit subtitle that describes the dynamic heterogeneity of this book, which is both memoir in nature, personal and open. Violić's autobiography is also (already) a history of the poetics of a theatrical period marked by Gavella and his directing students. Analyzing his experiences as a director, and in the essays of this book, on the one hand, he deals with the analysis of the dramatic text, and on the other, with the theatrical and political context that dominates in the nineties and significantly determines and evaluates his poetics as a director.
