Summary
Darko Tuševljaković: Carrot
Memories from his childhood were waiting for him in ambush. Davor's childhood smelled of the Adriatic Sea, of oleanders, but also of burning. In sun-drenched Zadar, a group of thirteen-year-olds, unaware of the coming shadows of war, were rarely troubled by serious worries in their carefree play and everyday boyish troubles. Until suddenly everything changed... Many years later in Belgrade, Davor's new life is marked by a vague memory of his former comrades, along with various unspoken questions simmering beneath the surface. He will seek answers to them when he goes to Zadar with his girlfriend Nina, in order to face his past. There, Davor will discover truths about himself and others, memories will take on new meanings when unexpected doubts and judgments appear. From meeting to meeting, Davor's story becomes the story of five boys whose life was overwhelmed by events and relationships that even to this day some cannot forgive. To yourself or to others.
