This book tells about the unusual fate and courage of the young Dalia Grinkevičiute, who was deported from Kaunas to the Altai region in 1941 after the Soviet occupation. The author writes about her deportation from Kaunas, the temporary capital of Lithuania, to the Altai region, and later through Yakutsk to Tiksi on the island at the mouth of the Lena, north of the Arctic Circle. She was 14 years old and was deported together with her mother and brother. After fleeing back to Lithuania, she lived there illegally, before being rediscovered years later and returned to Siberia. After her first stay in Siberia, she recorded memories that she hid in a mason jar in the garden. When she returned from the second deportation - she could not find her. She studies, later works as a doctor, but the government does not leave her alone. He dies at the age of 60. The notes hidden in the ground in the garden were accidentally found after her death.
