Blagojević puts these primordial, traditional spaces of women's business in and around the kitchen on a new level and transforms them into spaces of culmination or resolution of the inner dramas of her heroines. The stories told in this way reveal a new dimension of sauerkraut, polenta or a meat mallet, because they cease to be food or a tool in the kitchen, and become a symbol of rebellion, disobedience, social disintegration, social status.
