Summary
Tatjana de Rone: Platinum Dust
Pauline is a young maid who works at the legendary Hotel Mapes in Reno, Nevada. Jednog dana je zamole da zamijeni kolegicu i očisti apartman 614, ali iako joj kažu da je prazan, pred njom se pojavljuje omamljena, pospana žena. The two of them immediately start a conversation, and Polin soon becomes the manager of the guest apartment. It is only when she emerges from it and is cross-examined by the hotel manager and her colleagues that she learns that the frail Mrs. Miller is actually Marilyn Monroe, whose stay in Reno coincides with the break-up of her marriage to Arthur Miller and the filming of her last film, The Misfits. An unexpected intimacy will be born between them that will break your heart.
This is an honest, suspenseful novel and a story about worlds that don't usually overlap. Testimony to the enduring power of female friendship is also an intimate portrait of Marilyn Monroe and her little-known side.
