Summary
Vlado Gotovac: Priblijivanje
Priblijivanje is a collection of poems by prominent Croatian poet, essayist and politician Vlado Gotovac, published in 1968.
This book was published by the well-known Belgrade publishing house Prosveta and contains about 132 pages. At the same time, for the European and world history of the turning point in 1968, Gotovac published another notable collection entitled Songs from memory.
Like most of Gotovac's earlier works (such as the collections Opasni prostor or Jeka), the songs in Prijižavanje are deeply imbued with philosophical reflections, intellectualism and the search for meaning. The collection belongs to an important phase of his literary creativity, before he became a political dissident in the early 1970s due to his involvement in the Croatian Spring and the editing of Hrvatski tjednik in the early 1970s, and was sentenced to several years in prison and the loss of civil rights.
