Latifa is a young girl from Afghanistan, who in this book testifies about life under the rule of the Taliban, but also about her fight for the freedom, rights and dignity of Afghan women. Together with several members of her family, she managed to leave the country illegally and convey her painful experiences to the European media. She wrote the book with the help of Shakeba Hashemi, a woman who dedicated her life to fighting for the rights of Afghan women.
