And when the harp had long been silent, the beautiful head rested on the pillow... the night still listened; the vertical column sent down long rays on the branches of the spruce and collected the water through silent sieves - while at the same time the strength and curvature of the Earth, imperceptibly and silently to its inhabitants, rushed towards the east - the moon hurried to the west, and with it the old stars, while new ones were born in the east ... and so on, until at last, between them, at the edge of the forest, a pale, milky streak of light appeared between them - a fresh breeze blew would through the branches - and the first morning cry would echo from the bird's throat!...
