Summary
Ivan Josimov: Time of wax
How is it possible that everything revolves around unrequited love? Because only they are remembered.
Dreams only take away our lives, Emil said aloud to himself. Often they are all we have left in wasted lives, I thought. Because our hopes are perishable, he said.
Emil is a great actor who juggles women and the destinies of the people around him. After his sudden death, Emil's son tries to find out if his lover Roza and wife Kaća also committed suicide. The resulting questioning of the hero creates a hurricane leech that sucks the reader and shows a way out of the darkness in which the protagonist finds himself.
Ivan Josimov's novel is a vortex of memory that leads to healing, a perfect story like a spiral composed of fragments from which there is no way out.
In terms of style and structure, Vreme od vosk belongs to the very top of Serbian prose.
