Josip Barković: The Green Boy
Josip Barković was born in Otočac in 1918. He published the extensive wartime novels "Sons of Freedom" (1948) and "The Valley of Childhood" (1955/56), seven psychological novels with social themes and the fate of the individual, and six collections of short stories. Among the collections of short stories, "The Green Boy" is probably the most famous, intended for the youngest readers, first published by Matica hrvatska in 1960.
