Summary
Louis Legrand: Moral training today
About the book Contemporary societies are faced with numerous problems related to the violation of human rights, discrimination, intolerance, abuse, violence, disrespect for life, sexual abuse, genetic manipulation, environmental destruction, etc. Human life has become the object of dangerous manipulations. Despite this, the school never paid less attention to moral education. This book confirms the necessity of such training. In it, the author considers the foundations of moral values, analyzes pressing contemporary problems, and advocates an "active" pedagogy suitable for moral training in today's schools, which have largely neglected this very important area of educational activity. Purpose of the book The book is intended for students of teacher studies, beginning teachers and experienced teachers of primary and secondary schools. It is also interesting to a wider circle of pedagogical workers, pedagogues, sociologists and philosophers, as well as readers who are interested in topics related to civic education. He was director of the Research Department at the National Institute for Pedagogical Research in Paris. He is the author, among other works, of the book Les politiques de l'éducation, translated into Croatian and published by Educe under the title Educational policies.
