The Question about Godis the fundamental question that the author, Msgr. Ivan Devčić poglavito bavio u svojem djelovanju. It is a total of four volumes, which contain works mostly already published in our philosophical and theological scientific journals (volumes 1 and 2) and theological-pastoral-social discussions, the result of Devčić's reflections in the context of the current state of the Church, religion and pastoral care in Croatia and in Europe.

In the words of the author himself, "one could say that the works in the first approach are also the fruit of my academic calling, and in the second and third approaches priestly and episcopal."

Devčić leads us through philosophical discussions about God, in the manner of an excellent guide, through places of beauty that God has prepared for us, in which we have not yet been, but we certainly long to visit. It shows us a treasure trove of paths (but also warns of detours) that lead to one and only goal - God. These paths are often scientifically 'trodden' to a good extent. For Devčić, the question of God necessarily unites philosophy and religion.

The author offers a series of incentives, both for Christians to better understand and live their faith, and for all other people who are interested in questions about God and about life according to Christian faith in him. In this regard, this valuable work will find many sincere and interested readers who, by studying it, will enrich not only their cognitive perspectives but also their concrete human and Christian everyday life.

This book ultimately aims at an ever-new, i.e. ever more contemporary and current, Christian practice in society. Philosophical and theological premises and their scientific analysis are an indispensable prerequisite for this undertaking. But Devčić clearly shows that a Christian writer and scientist must by no means stay only on the analysis of theoretical insights, but that his scientific activity must necessarily be determined by the intention of permanent renewal of concrete life in faith. In this regard, his work is not just an introduction to the topic, but a very good example of its systematic and purposeful elaboration.
