Summary
Rastko Močnik: Theory with Ideology
The search for ideological sediments in theories and the daring questioning of the "translation" of theory into ideology.
Selected texts in which the author, analyzing what is productive in theory, gives proposals for the reactualization of the humanities as an endeavor that has always meant a critical attitude towards all efforts to use science as an instrument for subordinating the precariat of the humanities. The modern university tried to pursue theory as the opposite of such (objective) science, and the author, moving through different fields and through different levels of application of theoretical analysis, points to those places of theoretical resistance to the hegemony of this dominant view of science and its institutions. Theory (just like politics) is rare and it rarely happens that theoretical texts are at the same time penetrating and readable as the works published in this book.
