Summary
Michele Goslar: Jursenar - biography
*Copy from the library!
The book Michele Goslar Jursenar reveals to us, on the one hand, how Margerit de Krajankur became Yourcenar Marguerite: the early loss of her mother, life with a nanny and a father who, without giving up his own adventurous life, devoted himself to her and her education, her first sufferings and her first, but already mature, texts, her loves and general attitude, expressed in the subtitle of this biography: how sad it would be to be happy.
On the other hand, Goslar returns to the very sources of the works of Marguerite Yourcenar (1903-1987), and tries to recognize the heroes of her literary works in real people from her life, and their themes and plots in true events. She paid special attention to her childhood and growing up on her paternal grandmother's estate, and her ties to her native country, Belgium.
