Summary
Ivica Matičević: Measure for a story
The central place of narrative prose is stories. The story is a model of the world, of accumulated experience, an attempt to approach monotonous everyday life in a designed way. Each of the authors of the books described here, and there are 31 of them in total, has his own algorithm, his own measure for the story by which he conveys experiences to the reader. The entire effort in this book is therefore focused on discovering this measure, on describing the different possibilities with which each individual approach defines the external world, closing it between the beginning, middle and end of its own story. In addition, an attempt is made to determine the place of an individual literary work on the value scale, so this book is also a critical attempt to evaluate the included works according to how successfully - through the aspect of the story - they realized their formal and content potential.
