Agatha Christie: Why they didn't ask Evans

In the year in which Murder on the Orient Express brought her great success, Agatha decides not to entrust the next detective task to the genius Poirot, although thanks to this character she has already gained popularity among readers. The mystery of the new crime is solved by the vicar's son and a lady from high society. During a game of golf, Bobby Jones hits the ball and it goes over the edge of a cliff. The ball is lost forever, but on the rocks below the cliff he finds the curled body of a dying man. The man opens his eyes and with his last atom of strength, dying, utters: "Why didn't they ask Evans"? Intrigued by his words, Bobby invites his friend Frankie to try together to discover the truth about the man's death and the identity of the mysterious Evans. The investigation leads them into a series of difficulties and life-threatening situations.
