The previously published book Split vistas was an anthological selection of literary pages about the city under Marjan from the pen of numerous Croatian writers of the 20th century and attracted a lot of attention from readers. On this occasion, we present views of Split from the pen of Tino Ujević, who dedicated a large number of interesting and valuable texts to this city, which is little known. In this way, we return the poetic bard to new young readers, who in this unpoetic time of ours are not particularly interested in the poetic word, but from these prose texts, as well as from the feuilletons chosen for the first time in the book I take my hat off to the gods, it will not be difficult to accept Tino as a contemporary, with a sharp pen and encyclopedic knowledge. The selected topics he writes about and the phenomena he analyzes or criticizes have not faded with time, we recognize them even in today's everyday life.
