The book The Writer and the Story by a synthetic approach to Andrić's life and work, but also thanks to new discoveries and insightful interpretive insights into individual works, as well as into the writer's entire oeuvre, surpasses all previous biographies, as well as many monograph dedicated to the author On the Drina bridge. Žaneta Đukić Perišić, one of the best connoisseurs of the life and work of Ivo Andrić, as well as the reception of that work in time, and thanks to extensive research, she came to a series of new, undiscovered details from the writer's life, opening the doors of his workshop. Faced with the complex problem of the relationship between the writer and the work, the author managed to avoid any kind of literalization and simplification in the interpretation of this relationship. Moreover, taking Andrić's work as a model of one, unknown and hidden personal world for the readers, Žaneta Đukić Perišić established many thin but significant connections between art and life, which illuminate in a new way those dark places in the biography of the great writer, as well as the hidden meanings of his literature, which science has not been able to illuminate and interpret until today.
