"In this anthology there are writers who played a significant role in the development of the fairy tale by introducing some new elements that later became common in the fairy tale, writers who affirmed the fairy tale in their country, and also influenced our writers and were reading material for numerous generations of children, writers whose fairy tales are included in the school reading program and writers whose fairy tales were interpreted in in the book S. Težak - D. Težak: Interpretation of fairy tales, Divič, 1997. At the beginning are fairy tales that are not known for sure who wrote them and when, and the other fairy tales are presented in chronological order according to the year of birth of the author or writer. Since they are mostly Croatian fairy tales, it could be wrongly concluded that this literary genre is no longer written in the world. but unfortunately very little is translated."
