Summary
Jonas Karlsson: Invoice
Is it possible to determine the price of one's own happiness? One man is on his way to find out... The seemingly ordinary routine life of the protagonist, which boils down to working in a video store and watching movies with pizza, is disrupted by a sudden invoice issued to him by the Tax Administration. There is nothing particularly strange about it except for the astronomical amount, 5,700,000.00 crowns. Convinced that there is a mistake, he first ignores it, but soon it turns out that the invoice is correct and intended for the right person. How to solve this problem? A minimalistic, surreal and very original novel. Invoice is a gem of contemporary literature that questions what we call happiness, as well as the way we measure it.
