Summary
Ibn Hazm: The Dove's Necklace
Ibn Hazm's idea of love is obviously based on a Platonist concept, and given that it is known that the Dove's necklace had a kind of influence in Europe (especially on the troubadour's concept of love), it is no wonder that it is still interesting today. Although Arabic poetry and prose were limited by formalized patterns, this work on love has been read with equal interest for centuries, and its very essay form seems familiar even today.
