First of all, let's get something straight: these are CHRONICLES, not a diary. I know what it says on the cover, but when my mom went to buy this for me, I EXPRESSLY told her not to buy me something that says "diary" on it. Super! I just need some fool to catch me walking around with it and get the wrong impression.
And there's one more thing I want to clear up, and that is that it was MOTHER'S idea, not mine. But she is crazy if she thinks that I will write down my "feelings" and such things. So don't expect me to keep writing "Dear Diary" this, "Dear Diary" that.
Lucky for us that Greg Heffley, the hero of these rather comic chronicles, rarely lives up to everything he says. Because being a kid can sometimes be a real hassle. And no one knows this better than Greg, who will find himself thrown against his will into a school environment where malnourished weaklings are forced to share the corridors with tall and bad-ass kids who are already shaving.
