Janko Matko: Mother
The main character is Zorka, the beautiful daughter of locksmith Peter and mother Kate who adored, pampered and looked after her. When she turned sixteen, her parents still expected her to marry one of their assistants. However, Zorka chose love and never repented even though life was not very kind to her. Her beloved husband and she had sixteen children.
This is a novel about a very self-sacrificing mother and wife who took care of her family's well-being all her life.
Janko Matko is a Croatian folk writer. He wrote twelve popular novels. All are written in an easy style, accessible to the reader. Each novel is based on a true event.
