Summary
Lydia Davis: Our Strangers
While in the stories from this collection she moves through the landscapes of the American East Coast, its South or the European continent, Lydia Davis uses the opportunity to continue the literary experiment that began more than four decades ago. As in the collection *I can't and I won't*, the variations in the form of micro-stories, as well as shorter and longer stories, allow us to more clearly and fully feel the rhythm and pulsation of everyday life, and bring to the surface those shining moments that easily slip by, and can serve as an important guide for us to return to ourselves. The stories from the collection *Our Strangers* - whose title bears a subtle combination of opposites - sometimes act as an escape from technological noise, sometimes present us with images of humanity at work, and sometimes in them we see a clear setting of boundaries towards those who are dear and close to us. Be that as it may, Lydia Davis never lets go of her magical narrative weave: witty, playful, contemplative, insightful, compassionate, obsessed with grammar, unusual, surprising and always different.
