Summary
Jerko Bakotin: Brotherhoods and murders, gajđin
Jerko Bakotin's travelogue "Brotherhoods and murders, gajđin" brings a somewhat extinct genre of literary reportage that is not afraid of length, because it has enough depth - in the golden times, perhaps prestigious newspapers would have published them as feuilletons - from Western Sahara, the Gaza Strip, Mongolia, Japan and Kosovo. Stylistically very heterogeneous, because different spaces imposed different perspectives on the author, and that author changed as well - the travelogues were written over the course of eight years, and the trips started even earlier - the texts suggest the author's tendency to immerse and process the stimuli of society and nature. At the same time, Jerko Bakotin does not hide his political left-wing commitment, nor his disappointment with the state of the world, and the anti-colonialist mood is dominant in these manuscripts.
