Summary
William S. Burroughs: Interviews
This book is a selection from BURROUGHS LIVE - an extensive book of interviews with William Burroughs (1914-1997), which were conducted in the period after the publication of The Naked Lunch, from 1960-1991. Then Burroughs became one of the most influential writers of his time, mostly with his views, and from a beat icon he even became a pop icon. Jack Kerouac called him "the greatest satirist after Jonathan Swift", always subversive towards the system of modern American society, and Ballard considers him the most important American writer of the second half of the 20th century. From these interviews and conversations, one can learn a lot about the controversial personality of William Burroughs, about his life and work, but also about very interesting interlocutors.
