Rimski epigrami

Gudžević Sinan

Summary

Sinan Gudžević: Roman Epigrams

"Sinan Gudžević was born on the morning of the Ides of March. Beware, now that you know him, of the Ides of March and you," says the future "štioc" a modern-day epigrammatist of the Feral Tribune spiritual mainstream, who parodies this frequent form of classical literature with his "epigrams", turning this collection into a kind of travesty. The high style of old Roman literature is trivialized by thematizing "domestic" affairs and mentality, and many traumatic parts of recent events in these areas are transformed into an irresistibly bitter comedy by a ludic combinator of various speeches ("of our peoples and nationalities", said by the ideological orthodoxy of some past times).
